You can arrive exactly as you are.
When it may be time
Something in you already knows.
When you have been holding too much for too long.
Anxiety, burnout, grief, or being the person others depend on can leave little room for your own needs. You may be capable and still tired of carrying everything alone.
When familiar patterns keep finding their way back.
Recurring relational patterns can show up with a partner, family member, friend, or colleague. Together, we can make room for clearer communication and more choice.
When change has left you between who you were and who you are.
Life transitions, LGBTQ+ identity exploration, creative blocks, and questions of meaning can unsettle familiar stories. There is room here to explore what feels more honest and your own.
The heart of the work
Your dignity is the ground. Capacity is what we tend.
Therapy is not about proving how well you can cope. We begin by honoring the intelligence in how you have made it this far, then noticing what helps more choice, connection, and aliveness become available.
Dignity is inherent
You do not have to earn care by being composed, productive, or easy to understand.
Capacity can be tended
We notice what constricts your choices and what helps your ability to respond become more available.
Aliveness is a compass
Change matters when it feels more honest, connected, and recognizably your own.
Meet Mitch Cartwright, LPC
A grounded presence for the work of being human.
I believe meaningful therapy begins with dignity: a relationship where you are met as a person, not managed as a problem. Together, we make room for honest reflection, greater capacity, and change that can be lived—not just named.
You do not have to tell your whole story in an introductory email. A brief sense of context and your reason for reaching out are enough; fuller history belongs in the intake process and our work together.
Room for the person others depend on
I welcome healthcare and helping professionals—including therapists, medical professionals, healers, and educators—who are making room for their own grief, burnout, relationships, or sense of self. This is a growing area of focus within a practice that welcomes adults from many backgrounds and walks of life.

Two paths, clearly named.
Therapy and coaching can both make room for reflection and change, but they are distinct services. Your location and what you are seeking will help us identify the appropriate path.

Virtual therapy
Individual & relational therapy
Some work is held one-to-one. Some asks for the relationship itself to be in the room.
I offer individual therapy and relational therapy for adults—including couples therapy, adult family relationships, friendship and peer relationships, and workplace relationships. Relational sessions bring two or more people into the conversation to understand recurring patterns, strengthen communication, or meet a shared transition with greater clarity and care.
Therapy is available virtually or by phone to clients located in Missouri, where I am credentialed as a Licensed Professional Counselor.
